Wuji
How freeze-dried nutrition helped Wuji maintain a healthy weight, thrive after dental surgery and enjoy every meal.
When your cat suddenly stops eating, it's every guardian's worst nightmare.
For Wuji, an eight-year-old chocolate point Siamese, that journey began around five years ago. Living with his older seal point Siamese companion, Buji, Wuji had always been a much-loved member of the family. But when he began refusing his usual food, it quickly became clear that something wasn't right.
After investigations, the cause was discovered: dental concerns and gingivitis. Wuji needed several teeth removed, making his previous dry food unsuitable. His guardian began searching for a nutritious alternative that would be gentle on his mouth while still providing everything he needed to stay healthy.
There was just one problem - Wuji simply wouldn't eat it.
Despite trying numerous high-quality wet foods, he rejected every one. The only thing he continued to enjoy was Hipaws Freeze-Dried Chicken Mini Breast Fillets, which he'd already loved as an occasional snack.
Knowing he preferred freeze-dried food, his guardian found another complete freeze-dried chicken diet that Wuji happily ate for several years. But when it was discontinued, the search started all over again.
"I was desperate and started trying all sorts of other foods, but he hated them all," says Wuji’s guardian.
Then came the breakthrough.
His guardian discovered Hipaws All Stages Complete Freeze-Dried Cat Food in our Chicken Recipe.
Prepared with warm water to create a softer texture that's easier for Wuji to eat after his dental surgery, it immediately became his favourite meal and it's been his daily diet ever since.
Today, Wuji continues to thrive.
One of the biggest improvements has been his ability to maintain an ideal weight without any difficulty, giving his guardian confidence that he's getting the balanced nutrition he needs every day.
Alongside his complete food, Wuji also enjoys Hipaws Freeze-Dried Chicken Hearts as a natural, single-ingredient treat.
The changes have gone far beyond simply eating his meals.
His guardian has noticed that his coat is thick, incredibly soft and glossy, his eyes are bright, and he's playful, affectionate and full of energy. Even an everyday detail like litter tray odour has improved, with noticeably less-smelly stools - a welcome bonus for any indoor cat guardian.
Most importantly, Wuji is healthy, happy and excited for mealtimes again.
"Nothing has changed - except that he eats well, and that makes me VERY happy."
For guardians of fussy eaters or cats with specific dietary needs, finding the right food can feel overwhelming. Wuji's story is a reminder that sometimes the simplest nutrition is exactly what they need.
Made with carefully selected ingredients and free from unnecessary fillers and additives, Hipaws' freeze-dried recipes provide natural, complete nutrition that cats instinctively love.
Wuji's guardian has one piece of advice for anyone considering trying Hipaws:
"Hipaws may seem expensive, but it is well worth it to see your cat so healthy and happy, and to know that they're getting the nutrition they need without horrible additives."
For Wuji, finding Hipaws meant more than finding another food. It meant finding a meal he genuinely enjoys, supports his health, and gives his guardian complete peace of mind at every mealtime.
